NTCA are excited to introduce the third podcast in a three-part series which forms our ‘Learning the Lessons’ project, supported by the Northern Hub through funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and the Northern Territory Government.
Showcasing the experiences and strategies of Central Australian pastoralists, we learnt more about what it takes to effectively manage beef enterprises in a variable climate – including what’s changed over the years…and what current approaches are improving outcomes across both production and landscape.
The Cadzow family, consisting of Steve, Bec, and their three daughters, Gabby, Bridgette, and Imogen, owns Mt Riddock and has lived there for 37 years. They are one of three pure Hereford breeders in the Northern Territory and place great emphasis on their cattle’s genetics to influence traits such as frame size, temperament, and confirmation.
