‘Learning the Lessons’ Podcast with Andy & Steve Hayes

NTCA are excited to introduce the first podcast in a three-part series which forms our ‘Learning the Lessons’ project, supported by the Northern Hub through funding from the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and the Northern Territory Government.

Showcasing the experiences and strategies of Central Australian pastoralists, we learnt more about what it takes to effectively manage beef enterprises in a variable climate – including what’s changed over the years…and what current approaches are improving outcomes across both production and landscape.

The Hayes family have been in Central Australia for over 100 years – so they have lived through their fair share of climatic challenges. From herd transitions to innovation, Andy and Steve Hayes from The Garden Station share experiences, learnings and ideas spanning two generations and beyond – as they work together to build on a successful family beef business in the red centre.
